The Vegas odds for the AFC South champion have made another significant shift following the news of Tennessee Titans linebacker Harold Landry missing the season with a torn ACL.

Initial odds listed the Titans as the favorite at even money, while the Colts sat at +140.

In early July, with NFL teams getting set to enter training camp BetMGM.com listed the Indianapolis Colts as the division favorites at -105. The two-time defending champion Titans were not far behind, with their odds to win the division at +135.

Since then, things have once again taken a big shift.

With training camp and preseason games in the books and week one almost upon us, the current odds display the Titans to be an even bigger underdog than they were before.

Current BetMGM.com odds has the Titans at +180, while the Colts improved to –140.

Previously, the Titans and Colts still had the narrowest margin between any two teams favored to win their division. Now, there are three other divisions in the NFL (NFC West, AFC North, NFC East) with the second-place finisher given better odds than Tennessee.

Despite an underwhelming preseason performance by the starters for Indianapolis, the story for the Colts is the same. They were “a quarterback away”, and although Matt Ryan isn’t what he used to be, he should still be good enough to run an efficient offense led by Jonathan Taylor.

The wide receivers are mostly question marks, but the defense has taken big steps forward to go toe-to-toe with Tennessee.

The Titans, who just lost Landry, took a hit to the one part of their defense that really made them special. The pass rush is what made everything work and what created turnovers for a young secondary.

That said, Jeffery Simmons, Bud Dupree, and Denico Autry will still be there to help Rashad Weaver fill Landry’s big shoes. The Titans strength over the years has always been that they are bigger than just one player. Look no further than Derrick Henry last season.

+180 feels like really good value in a division race that I feel like is a toss-up.
