The Cincinnati Bengals certainly got a good one when they drafted quarterback Joe Burrow. He couldn't get them to another Super Bowl this season, but Burrow took home a unique award on Thursday night.

Burrow was named the FedEx Air Player of the Year at the NFL Honors ceremony given to the NFL's top quarterback.

This is the 20th year for the FedEx Air and Ground awards program which has donated over $1 million to non-profits, charities, hospitals, and other humanitarian organizations. Also, it supports HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) by making donations and grants to support needs-based scholarships. It's the longest-running sponsor-driven award in the NFL.

Burrow had another stellar year for the Bengals in 2022. He finished fifth in passing yards (4,475) and tied for second in touchdown passes (35).

After completing 70.4% percent of his passes in 2021, Burrow followed it up with 68.3% this season, and as a result, his 68.2% percentage for his career is now the best in NFL history.

With Burrow at the helm, the Bengals have gone from the NFL basement to one of the best teams in the league with back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances and a trip to the Super Bowl in the last two seasons.

Burrow is expected to receive a big payday from the Bengals soon, which is understandable seeing as he's currently one of the few quarterbacks in the league that would be considered elite.
