The Minnesota Vikings are off the heels of winning the NFC North for what is likely not going to be the first time.
As is appears, their arch-rival and biggest obstacle in the division, the Green Bay Packers, are looking to trade their long-time quarterback. Aaron Rodgers, who is 17-11-1 against the Vikings all time.
Now it appears the New York Jets are heavily at the forefront of trading for the future Hall of Famer.
Assuming this trade went down, it would set the Vikings up to not only win the North, but contend within the NFC for the near and foreseeable future. With Dak Prescott in Dallas, and Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia, there are not many teams in the NFC with an established starting quarterback.
Moving Rodgers the AFC would lessen it. Leaving QB Kirk Cousins as easily one of the best remaining starters in the NFC.
It's not surprise how much the Minnesota Vikings have struggled against Rodgers in the past. Rodgers has his second highest completion percentage by opponent (68.1%) of his career, as well as his fifth-highest passer rating.
If the New York Jets really make this move happen, it would elevate the Minnesota Vikings to NFC North favorites for years. Even with the rise of the Detroit Lions recently, the Vikings have the most consistently run franchise in the division.
New York is simply the favorite. Other teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans could also be interested.
Time will tell but it spells good news in Minnesota.
