That being said, you want as many equality players on the field as possible during the Super Bowl. That gets elevated when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are on the other side in the biggest game of the season.
The Eagles defense has been one of the most consistent in the NFL this season.
Their defensive line is getting a historic amount of the pressure on quarterbacks. Their linebacker play has improved compared to the past few seasons. The secondary is full of ballhawks.
One of those secondary pieces says that he plans to play in the Super Bowl amidst dealing with an injury.
Cornerback Avonte Maddox is confident in his chances to play next weekend versus KC.
He has been held out of practice as of late. That being said, the absences don't seem serious for the Eagles CB.
Maddox played well in his return from a toe injury in the NFC Championship game. He can be an X-Factor for Philly on the back end.
Fellow CBs Darius Slay and James Bradberry have dazzled this year. Maddox and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson being a couple of other defensive back talents for the Eagles have made a big difference when available.
Having both of them against the Chiefs would be massive for the Eagles next weekend in the Super Bowl.
