$100,000 in one night. That's what Dallas Cowboys wide receiver T.Y. Hilton earned as he helped his team win a Wild Card playoff game.

The veteran signed midseason with the team but agreed to an incentive-heavy deal with the potential to earn $700,000 throughout the playoffs. All he has to do is 1) play 30% of the offensive snaps or more and 2) for the Cowboys to win.

On Monday, Hilton played in 25 snaps on offense, good for 36%. Had he played 20 snaps, he wouldn't have made the snap count minimum. While Hilton didn't light up the stat sheet, he was valuable for the Cowboys.

He had two catches for 23 yards. One came in the second quarter on third-and-eight as Hilton moved the chains to extend the Cowboys' second touchdown drive to make it 12-0.

Hilton is set to win significantly more money if the Cowboys keep winning in the playoffs. He's secured a role on Kellen Moore's offense and has clearly become a reliable pass catcher for Dak Prescott, especially in high-leverage downs.

Here’s a quick rundown of what T.Y. Hilton's contract incentives look like:

  • Potential total incentives ($700,000)
  • Wildcard Win (30% snaps): $100,000 (earned)
  • Divisional Win (30% snaps): $150,000
  • Conf. Championship (30% snaps): $200,000
  • Super Bowl Win (30% snaps): $250,000

Since Hilton's financial interests align with Cowboys Nation's deepest desires, the fan base should be rooting hard for the veteran wideout next Sunday as he attempts to bring up the number of incentives earned in January all the way to a quarter-million dollars with a chance to keep adding money to his bank account if Dallas goes on a run.
