Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Darnell Wright reunites with one of his former UT teammates in the latest 2023 NFL mock draft from Pro Football Network.
PFN has the Denver Broncos selecting Wright in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the No. 28 overall pick.
On my board, Darnell Wright is a natural right tackle prospect worth taking within the first 32 picks. The Tennessee product and former five-star recruit has elite raw power and grip strength, and his short-area mobility at 6’6″, 330 pounds, completes the package.
Landing in Denver would reunite Wright with former Vols teammate Jarrett Guarantano.
Guarantano went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he signed with the Broncos during the season and served as Denver's primary backup quarterback when Russell Wilson was out with a concussion.
Wright and Guarantano played together at Tennessee in 2019 and 2020.
That's not the only former UT teammate that Wright would be reunited with in Denver, either.
Former Vols wide receiver Brandon Johnson, who finished his collegiate career at UCF, is on Denver's roster, too. Johnson and Wright played together in 2019 and 2020 at Tennessee.
Jonathan Kongbo, a former Vols linebacker who left Tennessee before Wright's arrival, is also on the Broncos' roster.
