Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett was reportedly arrested in Dallas, TX early Sunday morning.

WFAA reported that Bennett was arrested for public intoxication around 6:00 AM local time.

From WFAA:

Officers responded to reports of a man banging on doors in the area, police said.

When the officers arrived, they found Bennett "and determined he was intoxicated," a police news release said.

The release did not say if Bennett was the man reportedly banging on doors, and it did not say where, specifically, they located him.

Bennett, 25, was arrested and taken to a city detention center. It was unclear when he was being released Sunday.

Bennett's had some off-field questions during his time in Athens. He skipped the press conference the morning after the national championship earlier this month for reasons that could be described as selfish.

“I told them when the whistle sounds, my obligations to the media are done to the University of Georgia,” said Bennett to ESPN's Scott Van Pelt after Georgia's win against TCU. “I’m going to go have fun and celebrate.”

Bennett was also criticized for spending most of Georgia's championship parade on his phone and ignoring fans.

A year ago, Bennett appeared on Good Morning America after Georgia's win against Alabama in the national championship and appeared to be hungover.

Benett is expected to be selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, but his off-field behavior could significantly impact his draft stock.
