DeMarcus Ware is a Hall of Famer: Who's next for the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are no strangers to having players elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And yet, when DeMarcus Ware got the knock to be a part of the inductee class for 2023 on Thursday, he became a first in franchise history.
Ware is the first Cowboy ever to be in the Hall of Fame without having won a Super Bowl in Dallas. He did become a champion with the Denver Broncos later in his career but most of his achievements came playing for ring-less Cowboys teams.
Jason Witten
With good ol' Mr. Reliable, it's not a matter of if but when. Witten had a fantastic 17-year career with two All-Pro selections and 11 Pro Bowls. The legendary Cowboys tight end showed a lot during his career but one thing stands out among all: his durability.
Witten holds the NFL record for more games played and started by a tight end. He's fourth in league history in receptions, trailing only Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, and Tony Gonzalez.
The only debate surrounding Witten's path to the Hall of Fame is whether or not he'll be inducted in his first year eligible.
Tony Romo
Since Romo is a quarterback, the public will look at him differently. The Cowboys never won the big one with Romo and Romo never won the big one with the Cowboys. To some, that's on the QB. To others, he was the only reason Dallas was even competitive.
He owns the Cowboys' records for passing yards and touchdowns. I have serious doubts as to whether or not he'll eventually get the knock but it will likely take a while. If not forever.
Tyron Smith & Zack Martin
Two for one. But the Cowboys' offensive linemen are probably automatic selections for the Hall of Fame.
Martin has been the best guard in the league since he entered the NFL in 2014. He's a six-time All-Pro and his bust is probably already made and has yet to be unveiled. There's just no question.
As for Smith, some people will look at his late-career injuries and have questions about him. He's a two-time All-Pro and has been one of the league's elite left tackles for over a decade. He might not be as automatic as Martin but I bet he ends up in Canton even if it's late in the process.
