A former Tennessee Vols player who was among those that transferred after the 2020 season showed some major respect for UT this weekend.
Morris, a former five-star recruit, played at Tennessee in 2019 and 2020 before transferring to Oklahoma.
The Georgia native participated in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL this past week and he made sure he showed some love for the Vols.
Morris wore his Oklahoma helmet but he added a Power T to the back of it.
WNML's Vince Ferrara pointed out the helmet decal on Saturday. He also noted that former Vols running back Eric Gray, who also transferred to Oklahoma after the 2020 season, did nothave a similar Tennessee helmet decal at the Senior Bowl this past week.
When Morris left Tennessee, the program was in disarray. There was a lot of uncertainty about the future of the program and whether or not Tennessee would ever emerge from the basement of the SEC East.
There's also the possibility that Morris might not have had a choice but to transfer, due to some of the violations that occurred at UT under previous head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
Obviously, the program is in great health now under Josh Heupel. But two years ago, no one knew that would be the case.
Morris made his choice, for whatever reason, but it's clear he still has love for Tennessee. I think that's something fans can appreciate from the former Vol.
