The Jacksonville Jaguars will have somewhat of an advantage going their way when they revisit Arrowhead Stadium to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.
These two teams, as you may remember, played each other already this season in a game that saw the Chiefs winning 27-17. The score would indicate that the game was close, but I think pretty much everyone knew who would win the game the entire time.
Both of these teams have had their own cool story this season. For the Chiefs, we all know the narrative of Patrick Mahomes and not having Tyreek Hill. We know about everyone counting them out of the division.
For the Jaguars, they had a rough year last season with Urban Meyer and basically had to restart the entire rebuilding process over with Doug Pederson. Even in a rebuild, they were still able to make the playoffs, which is an amazing feat and I think all of Chiefs Kingdom would agree.
The Jaguars have gotten better since the last time these two teams played each other, and it is very obvious. The Chiefs beat the Jaguars to make Jacksonville 3-7 on the year. Since then, they are 6-1 with that one loss coming at the hands of the Detroit Lions.
The Jaguars are on a roll right now and have won six straight games – one more than the Chiefs' current winning streak.
Here is the advantage, though. The Jaguars have momentum on their side. They just won their first playoff game since 2017 and did it in the craziest way possible. If you don't think winning from down 27-0 or even 31-3, will give you momentum into the next game, you are crazy.
The Jaguars are humbled and grateful to be in the playoffs, so they will put up a fight, as we saw this last week. So the Chiefs can't take any of that for granted.
