The Kansas City Chiefs could very well lose on Sunday, as it isn't out of the question. The Philadelphia Eagles are a great team and are in the Super Bowl for a reason. They are the favorites by many people too.
They present a real challenge for the Chiefs, probably even more of a challenge than the AFC Championship game. The Eagles are a balanced team that can win in every way imaginable and has the coaching to go along with it.
But, where their team starts and ends is the quarterback. Jalen Hurts was in the MVP conversation for most of the year and could have won it had he not gotten hurt and Mahoes not gone absolutely bonkers.
Hurts is a legit threat to the Chiefs winning another Super Bowl. Does that heam he is better than Mahomes? No. But he is pretty good.
Andy Reid seems to think so too.
"First of all, he's a good kid and so he's fit in very well with that team. One of the leaders on that team, if not the main leader, he and his play has proven out to be very, very good. So, and he'll do nothing but get better with time. And that's just how it works at that position. He looks like he's in complete control of that offense and a real tribute to the kid."
The Chiefs will have to stop Hurts in a multitude of ways. He can make almost every pass from the pocket or on the run, and he can run by design. Hurts is one of the best running quarterbacks in the league behind maybe Lamar Jackson.
On the year, Hurts has over 700 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. Through the air, he got progressively better. In the past, Hurts was not as great a passer, but can now dazzle you that way too. It also doesn't hurt that they added A.J. Brown.
But Hurts is good. he can be the sole reason the Chiefs lose the Super Bowl if they don't stop him, which is easier said than done.
