The Buffalo Bills were facing a team with a backup quarterback on Wild Card weekend.
They were favored by two touchdowns. Nobody felt like they were going to get upset in the first round. In reality, it was quite close between the Bills and the Dolphins.
You could tell that these two teams had already played twice this season.
Both teams battled, and it was an awesome game. Josh Allen didn't have the cleanest game, but he stepped up when it mattered the most.
He refused to get too conservative with the football on offense, even when the Bills had the lead late. With the lead in the fourth quarter, Allen was still slinging it.
He had an average target depth of 26.3 yards in the final quarter while up in the game.
Some may disagree with that choice by Allen and the staff.
They were ultra-aggressive, and it bit them at times throughout the game. It didn't in the fourth quarter, even if they did not score in the quarter.
In the NFL, you must trust your top talent, though.
That's what the Bills did with Allen and company. The running game was not efficient, and they knew that they weren't going to pick up first downs with it.
They chose to keep the ball in Allen's hands and push the ball downfield to try to put the nail in the coffin. In the end, the Bills' 34 points were just enough as they squeaked through by a score of 34-31.
