The Las Vegas Raiders and their head coach Josh McDaniels came to a realization on Saturday after their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. I think most of the fans did too.
Let's just start here, the Raiders haven't beaten the Chiefs in two seasons now. Since 1990, the Chiefs are 48-19 against the Raiders. Not trying to upset anyone, just stating the facts.
It appears the Chiefs have found a recipe for success now, as they are now the first seed in the AFC, and have been to four straight AFC Championships, with two Super Bowl appearances including one win.
The Raiders are chasing the Chiefs, whether we want to admit it or not, and McDaniels knows that too.
"We know who we're chasing, that's for sure."
I think it is safe to say that the whole division is trying to catch the Kansas City Chiefs. It is also fair to say that we thought this would be the year that someone would dethrone them. I mean, why wouldn't we?
The Raiders added the best receiver in football and one of the best pass-rushers from last season to a playoff team, yet somehow they got worse.
The Denver Broncos added Super Bowl-winning and Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson but they also got worse. The Los Angeles Chargers added Khalil Mack and did get slightly better, but lost both games to the Chiefs.
Kansas City swept the entire division, and that doesn't feel great. It's time the Raiders made some changes to compete with the Chiefs because that seems to be the only way into the playoffs and winning the conference.
