The Green Bay Packers made a smart addition to their coaching staff on Wednesday.

According to a report from NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Packers are hiring Greg Williams as their defenisve backs coach.

Williams previously served as the Arizona Cardinals' cornerbacks caoch from 2019 to 2022. He'll replace Jerry Gray, who left for the Atlanta Falcons after his Green Bay contract expired this offseason.

Williams should be a solid addition to the Packers' defensive staff. He has significant amount of experience — Williams has been in the NFL since 2009 and he's been a full-time defenisve backs coach since 2016 — so he should be able to hit the ground running in Green Bay.

The Packers were No. 27 in the NFL last season in yards allowed per pass attempt, so Williams certainly has some work to do. But with Green Bay's talent and his experience, we should seem some improvement in that area in 2023.
