The Philadelphia Eagles finished the regular season as the most balanced team in the league, and that has shown true by the way they have dominated every team on their way to the Super Bowl. In two postseason games, they have scored 69 points and allowed just 14. That's elite.

A part of that is because of the coaching staff, as well as the players. But, who puts the players in the situation to win every play? Coaches do.

One of their best coaches, defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, turned down some great coaching opportunities already just to stay in Philadelphia.

He has been one of the bigger stories of the season for the Eagles. He is a huge reason the Eagles have the eighth-ranked defense in the league, in which Patrick Mahomes will have to deal with on Sunday.

“Yeah, they have a great defensive coordinator (Jonathan Gannon), first off," Mahomes said earlier in the week. "He does a lot of different things. Their scheme has evolved because of the players that he has. They have great All-Pro, and Pro Bowlers at every single level so they continue to add talent, man. They have a lot of great players, veteran players mixed with young players. I mean they’re number – I don’t know if they’re number one – but they’re one of the top defenses in the league for a reason. They get after the quarterback, so it’ll be a great challenge for us to go out there and try to have some success.”

Now, it isn't just Gannon though. The Eagles defense, the players that is, are the ones doing all the actual physical work.

The Chiefs will have to play against the best defense they have this season, outside of the 49ers. With Mahomes having a messed up ankle, it won't be easy either.

But, he knows what makes the defense so good. He knows where to attack them, and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, probably the best, and he has been to three Super Bowls for a reason. He can tear apart defenses.

Will he do that against the Eagles? There is a huge chance. But, if the defense can stick to the things they are good at, which just so happens to coincide with what the Chiefs like to do in the passing game, there shouldn't be an issue.
