Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry doesn't have any ill will toward Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown, his former teammate in Nashville.
Henry appeared on "Bussin with the Boys" this week (hosted by former Titans linebacker Will Compton and current Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan) and he was asked about Brown's big game against the Titans earlier this season.
Brown caught eight passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns in Philadelphia's 35-10 win against Tennessee.
"I didn't expect anything less," said Henry about Brown's big game against the Titans. "I knew AJ was going to go off 'cause I seen it here. AJ [is] going to do what he do because he's a dog."
"AJ is him," added Henry. "Broke the single [season] receiving record at Philly his first year…But I always told him, 'you get an opportunity, you're going to go crazy'. And he got an opportunity you see what he did with it."
"I texted him, I said 'I'm proud of you bro, just keep going, finish strong and keep doing you'".
It's no surprise that it's all love between Henry and Brown. After all, it wasn't necessarily Brown's choice to leave Nashville (which is likely part of the reason why the Titans fired general manager Jon Robinson during the season).
I'm sure seeing how much Henry supports Brown has Titans fans reliving the disastrous decision to trade Brown to the Eagles and thinking about what could've been this season.
But what's done is done. There will be other elite wide receivers that Tennessee will have a chance to draft. And they have a new general manager in Ran Carthon that's proved he can identify and draft elite talent in any round of the NFL Draft.
