Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava, the No. 1 recruit in the nation, displayed his elite physical abilities on Friday night in the Polynesian Bowl.
Iamaleava showed off his big arm on an impressive downfield throw to five-star tight end Duce Robinson.
That's a throw we saw Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton each make numerous times this season for the Vols.
Iamaleava also showed off his speed and ability to improvise when a play breaks down via a 58-yard run that almost ended in the end zone.
That's something that Hooker did extremely well for Tennessee in 2023.
Nico truly is the total package at quarterback. Like Hooker and Milton, he's a great teammate who is eager to compete. Iamaleava can make all the throws and he excels under pressure. I'm not sure what else there is to say about this kid at this point — the Vols have themselves an elite quarterback in Nico.
And the fact that Josh Heupel and Joey Halzle get to coach him should be a scary thought for the rest of the SEC.
