For the second year in a row on February 1, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement.

This time, Brady says it's for good.

The legendary quarterback, who will turn 46 in August, made the announcement via video that he posted to his social media accounts on Wednesday morning.

There's always a chance that Brady could unretire again, but that would be surprising this time around. After the way things went down last year, I think Brady made this announcement with 100 percent certainty that he's not returning in 2023.

That means Brady will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in five years.

And I think that essentially eliminates one of the three paths (retirment, playing for Green Bay, a trade) that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers could take in 2023.

There's no way Rodgers retires now.

If Rodgers retires now, he'd be going into the Hall of Fame the same year as Brady.

I don't see that happening. Rodgers would obviously be overshadowed by Brady's induction into the Hall of Fame. And after a long incredible NFL career, there's no way Rodgers would ok with that (and he shouldn't be).

Rodgers probably wasn't walking away from nearly $60 million anyway, but this esentially confirms that he'll be playing in 2023. We just don't know where he'll be playing.
