The Kansas City Chiefs shut down all of the trash-talking the Cincinnati Bengals did all week long, and sent them home. Meanwhile, the Chiefs will get a good night's sleep and get ready to face the Eagles in the Super Bowl in two weeks.
The Bengals coined a new term "Burrowhead" earlier in the week, and before that even said they ran the AFC. In Week 13 we saw Ja'Marr Chase reference the Chiefs as "tuna in a can." It turns out all of that was just for nothing.
Frank Clark, who is now three sacks away from being the all-time leader in postseason sacks, had something on his chest after the win over the Bengals.
"They said they run the damn AFC, they lied," Clark said in one postgame interview done by Fox. "They said we weren't going to whoop their ass, they lied. Cincinnati Bengals who? Who dat? Send their ass home. And that's who that is. That's who that is. Send their ass home, where are they at? In the locker room crying. One [Ja'Marr Chase], I don't know what the hell he did. 85 [Tee Higgins], I don't know what the hell he did but cry all day. S**t, I'm done."
But, he didn't quite get everything off of his chest.
"We did it, we did it," Clark said to James Palmer of NFL Network in another interview. "You know what I mean? We had to come back out here. You know, last year, this same team sent us home, man. You know, very disappointing season. They were calling this Burrowhead. I don't know who the hell they thought they were talking about. They need to take their bum ass back to Cincinnati. I don't know what number one did. I told him to holler at me. I told them last year they didn't get my best. I told them this year barely got my best. I'm the king. They gotta holler at me every game. Let's go."
These post-game interviews kind of give you 2019 vibes, when Clark made the legendary post-game interview. This one, well, it's too much to type out and has way too many expletives. But, listen for yourself if you don't remember it.
In 2019, Clark had a historic playoff run, where he had five sacks in three games. He was unstoppable, even when teams were trash-talking him, he backed it up on the field, and then said what he needed to. He didn't play too shabby against Cincinnati either.
