On Sunday, hours before glory would strike, there was a story that broke about the Kansas City Chiefs head coach.
All of a sudden, just out of nowhere, Reid is saying he could retire after the game. Now, I don't know if there was much truth to it or if he was saying that to make his guys play harder.
But, it was a real report, per Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.
Just think about how devastating it would be if they lost and Reid retired. I mean, heck, think of how devastating it would be if they won and he retired.
This guy is the greatest to ever coach the Kansas City Chiefs.
Even with the Super Bowl win, most of Chiefs Kingdom wanted to know if Reid was retiring. Well, he delivered while on the big stage.
"No. I'm going to enjoy this one right here," Reid said on the stage while the trophy was being presented.
This team showed that they can fight for Reid. When he let it be known that they would potentially be without him moving forward, it seemed they came to play just in case it was the last time.
Then, he was asked again on the NFL Network desk.
"I think I'm going to hand around for a bit."
I think we are all glad that the game ended that way, because who's to say he would be coming back if they lost?
