Pro Football Focus made some predictions this past week for top free agents this offseason and they have the Denver Broncos signing a 2022 Pro Bowler.

PFF's Brad Spielberger has the Broncos signing Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders later this spring.

From PFF:

Sanders had a great contract year and now enters free agency, though it was capped off with an underwhelming Super Bowl performance that was close to disastrous if his near-fumble on a target behind the line of scrimmage was ruled a turnover.

Sanders can be a good early-down pairing with 2021 second-round pick running back Javonte Williams as he makes his return from a knee injury that reportedly involved damage to multiple ligaments. New Broncos head coach Sean Payton has always emphasized a diverse skill set in his backfield, with the one-two punch of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram II in New Orleans a solid blueprint for what the eventual Williams-Sanders pairing could look like from a usage standpoint.

Among running backs with at least 50 carries on the year, Sanders’ 34 explosive rushes in 2022 ranked fourth and his 82.3 rushing grade ranked 18th.

Sanders would certainly be a great fit with the Broncos.

As Spielberger mentioned, new Denver head coach Sean Payton likes having diversity in the backfield. And Sanders would be a nice counter to Javonte Williams' more physical running style.

The big question, of course, is what would a contract for Sanders look like. Giving big money to free-agent running backs isn't always the best idea.

Sanders' current market value, according to Spotrac, is $7.2 million annually. If Denver can sign Sanders for that price — maybe a two-year deal — then it would be a nice move.

But I'm skeptical that Sanders will settle for that deal coming off his first Pro Bowl appearance.

I tend to think Sanders, a Pittsburgh native, will end up signing an extension to stay with the Eagles. But he'd be wise to at least wade into the free agency waters and test the market.
