The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best quarterbacks on our tie. We went from saying one of the best in the league to saying they have one of the best of our time.
Now, that isn't me saying one of the best of all time, because he isn't there quite yet, but he is on the outside looking in. If you ask me, I'd say he falls just outside the top five quarterbacks of all time.
He can do it all. He can pass it better than maybe anyone we have ever seen. He can read and react to defenses better than most, and he can use his legs pretty dang good too.
Recently, right after the Super Bowl actually, one of the biggest NFL media guys, and most respected, made a bold take on Mahomes. But, it wasn't bold to Chiefs fans.
This is what he had to say on his show the day after the Super Bowl:
"He did it with his by far best Super Bowl performance to date," Rich Eisen said on his show. "And maybe this is the way it's going to go for him forever more in the big game, possibly can have an off game if he makes it back…
"He's better than Aaron Rodgers. And I just said those words. He's better than Aaron Rodgers. [Andy] Reid's better than McCarthy. The team around him is better than the team that was around Rogers. He's making it back. I feel very comfortable making those statements."
It may have just slipped in there because Chiefs fans already knew this, but he said Mahomes was better than Rodgers. But, as I said, we knew that already.
Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks of this time too, but man, I have to agree with Eisen – Mahomes has already passed him up all time.
Mahomes already has more rigs, championship wins, and two Super Bowl MVPs with two MVPs to go along with it. So, yeah, I'd say he is already above him when it comes to the all-time rankings.
