A to Z Sports Film Room expert James Foster recently revealed his two-round mock draft with breakdowns of every single player picked including two picks by the Super Bowl champions: the Kansas City Chiefs.
Foster clarifies his mock is based on what he would do and his own evaluations of players as opposed to what he’s “hearing” teams could do.
Things start interestingly enough for the Chiefs as Foster simulates a trade with the New England Patriots in which he sends Orlando Brown to Foxborough in exchange for the 76th overall pick.
Although Brown remains one of the best left tackles in the game, his expiring contract opens the door for many scenarios. In this particular simulation, Foster suggests a "tag-and-trade" move.
Foster has the Chiefs taking Brown's replacement at pick No. 31 by selecting offensive tackle Anton Robinson out of Oklahoma.
"A lot of people would go receiver here," explains Foster. "But I've seen Patrick Mahomes win a Super Bowl with a mediocre receiving core. And I've seen him lose a Super Bowl because of a mediocre offensive line."
Not only does the A to Z Sports Film Room host believe that offensive line is the way to go for the Chiefs, but he also thinks Harrison would be an upgrade over Brown in pass protection.
With the 63rd pick, Foster has Kansas City picking Georgia Tech's defensive lineman Keion White.
"(White) doesn't really fit into the defensive lineman, edge rusher terminology," says Foster. "He played all over Georgia Tech's defensive front and I think his best fit is a base defensive end."
"He has all the athletic tools you want for a defensive lineman."
