Despite the Dallas Cowboys suffering another second-round playoff loss in 2022, there were some positives to take away from the season, one of which was wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. After two productive seasons to kick off his career, Lamb was tasked with being the top guy for the Cowboys' aerial assault, and he stepped up to the plate.

Lamb became only the third Cowboys pass catcher to log over 100 catches in a season and garnered Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors. The Cowboys can pick up Lamb's fifth-year option and begin working on a new deal this offseason, and NFL analyst Marc Ross feels Dallas should do just that.

"After Amari Cooper's departure last offseason, there was a lot of pressure on Lamb to prove he could be the Cowboys' WR1 after piling up a total of 2,037 receiving yards and 11 touchdown grabs during his first two seasons. He passed the test with flying colors in 2022, with 107 catches (tied for fifth in the NFL), 1,359 receiving yards (sixth) and nine receiving TDs (tied for sixth). Dallas has a lot to address this offseason, but extending Lamb should be the easiest decision of the bunch."

Lamb had five games over 100 yards in his first two seasons with the Cowboys. He had five such games in 2022 including a three-game stretch from Week 15 to Week 17. Lamb also added three games with double-digit receptions after not having any in his first two years with the Cowboys.

The Cowboys fell short in the postseason, but Lamb continued to ball out. After 68 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' win over the Buccaneers, Lamb torched the 49ers. He became just the third player in Cowboys' history with 10 or more receptions and over 100 yards in a playoff game (10 receptions for 1117 yards) joining Hall of Famer Michael Irvin and Jay Novacek.

Lamb elevated himself into a true no. 1 receiver in the NFL. He's easily top 10 at the moment, but with how Lamb continues to improve, a top-five discussion may be on the horizon, along with a larger bank account.
