The defense for the New Orleans Saints has had its problems this season. That being said, the unit has been one of the best in the NFL over the past month.

An important piece of that has been the pass rush. Carl Granderson has elevated his game and gotten more playing time. Their linebackers rush the quarterback quite well, and they are healthy again.

Veteran star Cameron Jordan has been impressive for much of this season as well. His stats aren't as eye-popping this season, but his impact weekly is clear. Teams have to give him extra attention in every game.

He doesn't get as much national media attention as some of the other best edge rushers in the league, but he deserves it.

Today, Jordan set another franchise record for the Saints.

He had three sacks in today's victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. That gives Jordan 115.5 sacks in his career with the Saints. That's half of a sack more than Rickey Jackson. Jackson is an NFL Hall of Famer.

Jordan will join him there by the end of his career in New Orleans. His performances soon the field and his mantra off the field will live on for the Saints forever.
