One Tennessee Vols player deserves a lot more appreciation from fans after a recent photo that was posted to social media.
Vols running back Jabari Small posted a photo to his Instagram story earlier this week that showed him wearing a sling.
The photo was posted the day after Small's father, in a since-deleted tweet, wrote that his son was scheduled to have surgery on his shoulder this week to repair a labrum tear. According to Small's father, the injury occurred in Tennessee's second game of the season (UT's road win against Pittsburgh).
This says a lot about Small. The Memphis native didn't miss a game all season despite playing with an injured shoulder for every game except for the season-opener against Ball State.
Despite the injury, Small finished third on the team in total yards from scrimmage (behind Jalin Hyatt and Jaylen Wright). And he finished tied for the team lead in total touchdowns (15, tied with Hyatt).
Small isn't the fastest running back on the roster, but he's as tough as it gets. And he truly gave his all for Tennessee in 2022. There might not be a more underappreciated player in college football.
