Bills Mafia suffered quite a shock from the Cincinnati Bengals, as they were blown out on their home field in the divisional round. After spending the majority of the year as the Super Bowl favorites, the front office now faces the sobering reality that maybe they aren't there just yet. The Bills are still one of the best teams in the NFL, and they may just be one piece away. That one piece could be a star running back.
Barkley is coming off of a season in which he racked up 1,650 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns, proving to the doubters he can still be one of the best running backs in the league. He won't come cheap, but the Bills need a legitimate running back.

There's no doubt the Bills could use a running back. And Barkley is one of the best running backs in the NFL.
But I'm not sure giving Barkley a huge contract would be a wise financial decision by Buffalo.
Barkley turns 26 years old next week. He probably has four superstar-level seasons left at most — if he stays healthy.
Whether or not Barkley stays healthy, however, is a question mark. Barkley played 16 games in 2022 for the first time since his rookie season in 2018.
Injuries are something you have to consider if you sign Barkley. When you combine the injuries with the fact that mega running back deals don't usually age well, it's easy to see why this isn't a slam-dunk suggestion.
