Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson had one of the greatest single-seasons from a wide receiver in NFL history.
After falling just shy of the WR Triple Crown, he was able to secure the most yards in a players first three seasons and fell 156 yards shy of the single-season receiving yards record.
After all that, Jefferson will add another honor to his mantle. Becoming the 52nd overall and the third Minnesota Vikings player to ever win the AP Offensive Player of the Year Award. Joining Adrian Peterson (2012) and Fran Tarkenton (1975).
Jefferson is now only the fifth wide receiver to ever win the award, joining Jerry Rice (twice), Michael Thomas and Cooper Kupp.
The Vikings superstar finished with an incredible season leading to an NFC North title and a playoff birth. 128 receptions (1st), 1,809 (1st) and eight touchdowns (11th) and consensus AP All-Pro Honors.
Presumably, this will factor into the offseason negotiations expected between the Vikings and Jefferson. In search of a long-term extension, likely making Jefferson the highest paid receiver in the NFL.
Now, the Offensive Player of the Year will go into year four, at only 23, with his sights set on the receiving yards record, the WR Triple Crown and a Super Bowl left to accomplish in his already impressive career debut.
