The Philadellphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are set to clash in this year's Super Bowl.
Simply by starting, both quarterbacks in the game will make multiple levels of history. Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes are both unique, special talents at the quarterbacks position.
Accordingly, they are making NFL history before they even make a highlight-reel play in the biggest game.
This year's Super Bowl will be the first with two Black starting QBs. Both starters played high school football in Texas as well, which is a nifty little detail.
It's a pretty cool feat for Hurts and Mahomes. They both understand the distinctive opportunity that they will have in the Super Bowl. Regardless, both want to get a victory for their team and city.
Both players are MVP candidates, and Mahomes is assuredly the lock to win it in the AFC. He was clearly the most valuable and the best player in football again this season.
For Hurts, his missed time due to injury is a hurdle, but his impact is undeniable. He's been dynamic when on the field, and he is a game-changer type of ballplayer. The Eagles have built their offense through him, and it has paid off.
Now, his biggest task is ahead of him.
Hurts has to go head-to-head with one of the greatest QBs that the NFL has ever seen in Mahomes. They have two different type of skillsets, but both are incredibly entertaining.
Their starts in the Super Bowl will be historic.
