The national media showing a lack of respect for the Tennessee Titans is nothing new.

For years, national media members have seemingly forgotten the Titans exist.

And we got another example of this on Saturday.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes injured his ankle during KC's 27-20 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. Mahomes left the game during the second quarter and returned after halftime to finish the game.

Before the end of the game, NFL Network's Rich Eisen tweeted that Mahomes was only the second quarterback he's seen return to a game after suffering a high ankle sprain. Eisen pointed out former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as the other quarterback that he's seen return after suffering a high ankle sprain (in 2011).

(On Sunday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain.)

There's just one problem with Eisen's tweet.

Just over a month ago, Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a high ankle sprain in Tennessee's 17-14 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

And he missed just one series after suffering the injury (Tannehill had surgery the following week, which forced him to miss the rest of the regular season — he would've had a chance to return in the postseason had the Titans made the playoffs).

Not only did Tannehill return to finish the game, but he also scored on a rushing touchdown after suffering the high ankle sprain.

That wasn't even the first time that Tannehill returned to a game after suffering a high ankle sprain this season. He also did it in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

And just like Big Ben in 2011, Tannehill was seen in a walking boot after the game.

What Mahomes did on Saturday against the Jaguars was impressive — there's no doubt he's a tough player.

But the national media completely ignoring that Tannehill did the exact same thing in Week 15 is completely ridiculous.

Of course, I doubt Titans fans are surprised — they've been dealing with disrespect like this for decades.
