Did you know that Super Bowl LVII is going to be the first one ever in which two brothers square off against one anoth… oh, you did? That figures. You've probably heard it a million, nay, bazillion times already.

But the thing is, the hype is so worth it. Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce have earned every ounce of it.

In fact, while the storyline has been somewhat overblown, I'd argue the achievements of them both combined have been massively underrated.

They really are one of the best brothers in NFL history and that's saying a lot for a league that's witnessed the Mannings, Watts, Barbers, and Sharpes.

But in fact, the Kelces stand alone when it comes to combined First Team All-Pro selections. Their nine combined honors are the most by any brother duo in the history of the league, per NFL Media Researchers.

  • Jason Kelce (5), Travis Kelce (4).
  • J.J. Watt (5), T.J. Watt (3).
  • Shannon Sharpe (4), Sterling Sharpe (3).

Let that sink in. They have more First-Team All-Pros than ANY other brother duo. The best in league history!

Next time you hear someone complaining about how that story is taking away from other Super Bowl narratives, remind them that we can't ignore such excellence.

And while they're both past their respective primes, you wouldn't know if you hadn't been watching the NFL for a while. After all, even at 33 (Travis) and 35 (Jason), they're still elite.

The Chiefs tight end ended the season with the highest PFF overall grade among tight ends and the Eagles center finished second among centers.

In terms of popularity, they're not doing badly, either. }

When it comes to combined Pro Bowl selections, they're the third-best duo in NFL history. But I'll pound the table and proclaim them the best one in this area even though they don't have the numbers.

Why? The two brother pairings ranked above them in Pro Bowl appearances have one of the siblings carrying the weight of the shoulders.

Allow me to paint the picture:

  • Peyton Manning (14), Eli Manning (4), 18 total
  • Bruce Matthews (14), Clay Matthews (4), 18 total
  • Travis Kelce (8), Jason Kelce (6), 14 total

See what I mean? That's teamwork right there.

Not to mention, the Kelces have reached a whole new level of superstardom with their New Heights Podcast which has over half a million subscribers on YouTube and has established itself as one of the best sports podcasts in the world.

In other words, the "Kelce Bowl" hype is more than justified. It's not only a pair of brothers facing each other but two of the best players of the Era in what should be one of the closest Super Bowls we've anticipated in years.
