Raiders, Crosby

The Las Vegas Raiders have had the season we all hoped they wouldn't have. The offense goes stagnant at times despite having weapons they didn't have last season, and guys having career seasons like Jacobs.

And the defense, well they haven't been good at all. There has been just one bright spot in that unit, and I think we all know who that is.

No, it wasn't Chandler Jones, the new Raider that is being paid a lot to be pretty average when it comes to getting to the quarterback.

No, it's Maxx Crosby, a guy who has cemented himself as one of the best edge defenders in the league and was often talked about in the Defensive Player of the Year Award all season long. He has consistently made it his mission to wreck offenses by getting to the quarterback while also stopping the run.

This season, he has done something that hasn't been done since 2013.

Per the Las Vegas Raiders PR team, Crosby now has 82 tackles and 20 tackles for loss in 2022. He is one of only four defensive linemen in the NFL since 1999 (first since 2013) to record 80+ tackles and 20+ tackles for loss in a single season.

If that isn't elite, I don't know what is. That tells you that not only is he getting to the quarterback at a high rate, as he has 11.5 sacks on the year, but he is also stopping the run. He is getting to the ball and seems to be frequently around it, and as a defensive end, that is crazy.

Crosby is one of the best defenders in football and he has shown it this year. He has also shown that his play is worth every penny. If there was one bright spot to look at this season, it has to be Crosby.
