Tennessee Vols QB Hendon Hooker just had the biggest flex so far in 2023
Hendon Hooker flexed on everyone in college football to start the week
Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker is currently prepping for the 2023 NFL Draft while also rehabbing from the torn ACL he suffered last November in UT's loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Hooker is projected as a day two pick, mostly because of the uncertainty around his recovery (some reports have suggested Hooker will be good to go by training camp, but there are no sure things when it comes to ACL recoveries).
While in the midst of rehab and draft prep, Hooker found time to get a fresh haircut.
And as is often the case with high-profile athletes, the barber came to Hooker for the trim.
Hooker reposted a video of the haircut on Instagram and there was something in the clip he posted that I immediately noticed.
While Hooker was showing off the fresh cut, I noticed that he had a replay of the Tennessee/Alabama game playing in the background.
What a flex.
Hooker is the first Vols quarterback since Erik Ainge in 2006 to beat Alabama. So I can't blame him for reliving the moment and reminding folks about Tennessee's 52-49 win over the Crimson Tide this past offseason.
There's one thing I would've done differently, however, if I were in Hooker's shoes.
I would've definitely had the final drive of the game playing (when Hooker got Tennessee in field goal range with just 15 seconds to play and two timeouts).
That drive was one of the most legendary drives in UT football history. And Hooker shouldn't be shy about being proud of that moment. He earned every bit of praise that's been directed his way as a result of Tennessee's win against Alabama in 2022.
