The Tennessee Vols received some great news to start the week.

Just after lunchtime on Monday, the Vols received a commitment from 2024 four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell.

The talented wide receiver committed to Tennessee over Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

Harrell, 6-foot-2/185 lbs from Sardis, MS (North Panola), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 32 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 6 player in the state of Mississippi.

Tennessee's newest commit told On3 that he committed to the Vols in part because of the way the entire staff would consistently check in on him.

Harrell also liked that UT plans to feature him as a "playmaker" in "the most explosive offense in college football".

The Vols are well on their way to regaining their reputation as "wide receiver U".

Not only is Tennessee loading up on talented wide receivers, but there isn't an offense in the nation that knows how to utilize wide receivers better than UT's offense.

If you don't believe me, just go ask Velus Jones, Cedric Tillman, and Jalin Hyatt about playing in the Vols' offense. Those three players are extremely talented, but it was Josh Heupel and UT's staff that was able to make sure their talent wasn't wasted.

Tennessee, by the way, now has five players committed to its 2024 recruiting class.
