Some tough decisions will need to be made this offseason. The Chiefs could cut one of their greatest playoff performers of all time in Frank Clark to save cap space. That's the beauty of the sport, we just don't know yet what will happen.

We also don't know what will happen with one of the Chiefs Pro Bowlers in Orlando Brown Jr., who just played on the franchise tag.

Last offseason he wanted to be paid a lot of money, and the Chiefs offered him a huge contract, but he thought he was worth more. So, he held out of some of the training camp but ended up coming back on the franchise tag.

Now, the Chiefs have to decide what they will want to do with him after an underwhelming season. In a way, him declining that contract was a blessing in disguise for the Chiefs, as his market value is not as high now.

Will the Chiefs tag him again, offer him another long-term deal, or just let him walk? We don't know, but some Pro Football Focus analysts revealed what they should do.

Orlando Brown Jr. got off to a slow start in 2022 but closed out the regular season admirably with game grades above 60.0 in every contest from Week 7 through the AFC conference championship.

A second tag for Brown would be above the league-wide number and just under $20 million, a relevant figure with reports last offseason that the Chiefs offered an extension with $95 million in cash over the first five years. Brown made his displeasure with the first tag well known, but a second one doesn’t appear to be out of the realm of possibilities — unless the two sides can find a middle ground on a long-term deal once and for all.

The Chiefs' biggest need this offseason is an edge rusher, as Carlos Dunlap and Frank Clark could possibly both be gone before the 2023 season starts. So, it's safe to say the Chiefs will be using the draft to find edge rushers, which means offensive linemen likely won't be the main focus.

The article written by the PFF staff says that they think Kansas City should franchise tag Brown Jr. again which would have him playing on $19 million.

To me, that is better than letting him walk and having to play a rookie offensive lineman that you got outside of the first round, in a draft that isn't as deep at the position they need, and it's better than paying him a huge contract when he wasn't great last season.

Either way, we still really don't know what will happen, and it will be interesting to see what approach they take this offseason with their Pro Bowl left tackle.
