Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker will forever be a legend in Knoxville after leading UT to their first win against Alabama since 2006.

The Vols' 52-49 win against Alabama was one of the most thrilling games of the 2022 college football season.

And Hooker was magnificent in it, passing for 385 yards and five touchdowns in the win. It was the most passing yards that Hooker passed for in a game as a Vol.

As good as Tennessee's offense was against Alabama — it was the most points the Crimson Tide had allowed since 1907 — Hooker thought it was going to be better.

Hooker told reporters at the draft combine in Indianapolis last week that after the Vols' fast start against Bama, he thought Tennessee was going to score more than they actually did.

"I thought we were going to score a little bit more [after] the way we started," said Hooker in response to a question about the Bama game. "We had a couple of mishaps — gave them a free touchdown. Down close in their end zone, I fumbled the ball [and] they scored."

"Every game, we're going to approach it the same way whether we're playing the best team in the nation or the worst team in the nation," added Hooker.

Even after the biggest win of his career, Hooker still isn't completely satisfied. He's still thinking about the points that Tennessee left on the field.

That shows you what kind of competitor Hooker is — intense and hungry.

I can't imagine why an NFL team wouldn't want him on their roster. He's got it all — size, speed, great arm, intelligence, maturity, and leadership.

What is there to criticize?

If you figure it out, let me know — because I sure can't find it.
