Chiefs losing a key defensive player in free agency
And another one gone for the Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs have been somewhat of a popular team during free agency, but for different reasons.
They spent a lot of money on Jawaan Taylor, their left tackle of the future, and some of their players from last season are getting a lot of attention in the market.
Now, another Chiefs player from the 2022 Super Bowl team won't be returning for the 2023 season.
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the New Orleans Saints are signing former Chiefs defensive tackle Khalen Saunders.
Saunders was a key member of the team, even if he didn't start games. He had the only sack from either team in the Super Bowl, by chasing down Jalen Hurts.
He also was a huge part of the Chiefs' improved run defense later in the year.
The Saints are getting a great guy and a good player, who will likely get more money and more opportunity now. But, that leaves the Chiefs looking for someone to replace him.
