The Dallas Cowboys have a nice trio of cornerbacks with All-Pro Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland, and Jourdan Lewis.

Lewis, the elder of the three, is in the last year of his deal, and there's no certainty that he'll be back, making cornerback an area that the Cowboys need to hit in April's NFL draft.

According to Mike Cugno of CBS Miami, the Cowboys will have Tyrique Stevenson of the Miami Hurricanes as one of their top 30 visits.

Stevenson began his college career at Georgia where he played for two seasons. As a freshman, he played in nine games and totaled 12 tackles and five pass breakups. As a sophomore, Stevenson racked up 34 tackles and five pass breakups in 10 games.

In 2021, the Miami native transferred to join the Hurricanes, and he was quite productive. Stevenson had a career-high 43 tackles as a junior and added the first interception along with four pass breakups. Last season, Stevenson produced two interceptions and 25 tackles.

AtoZ Sports film room guru James Foster conducted a two-round mock draft last month and had the Cowboys taking Stevenson in the first round. Here's his reasoning for doing so.

"One of the most underrated players in this class. Really good size and length. Great press coverage technique. He's just so balanced at the line of scrimmage.

"And he hasn't had crazy ball production. Nine pass breakups, three interceptions over the past two years, but that's what you have Trevon Diggs for. Tyrique Stevenson can come in and be a good No.2 cover corner. And then you've got DaRon Bland in the slot. So, I feel pretty about that cornerback room in Dallas."

Stevenson was very impressive at the Senior displaying good press coverage technique and the ability to battle through contested passes. Also, showed his ability to recover with his speed if he's beaten initially.

Once he took the field at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, Stevenson put together a strong performance. He ran a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash and recorded a 38.5-inch vertical jump and a 10'5" in the broad jump.

Stevenson recently had his Pro Day. His performance was a good one as he looked smooth and fluid in his drills. Speed, technique, and athleticism are all a part of Stevenson's game, and that's something every team can use at the cornerback spot.

He doesn't get the notoriety that Christian Gonzalez, Joey Porter Jr, and Devin Witherspoon get, or even Deonte Banks and Emmanuel Forbes. However, Stevenson has the skill set to transfer into a very good cornerback on the pro level and he's someone the Cowboys should keep an eye on as a possible Day 2 selection.
