The Detroit Lions aren't playing around.

While the team could've just sat around and been happy with its talented wide receiver room as is, the team instead went out and decided to bring in a reliable face to help up the quality of the depth pieces outside of the headliners.

On its face, this move may not seem like anything crazy, but investing in wide receivers is never a bad look in the pass-heavy version of the modern game.

Plus, it never hurts to bring a familiar face back to Detroit.

Marvin Jones Jr. is coming back to help the Lions out at one of the most important positions in the game on a very team-friendly deal.

While many fans lamented the loss of DJ Chark for a similar $5 million deal for one year, finding a way to bring Jones back at the same cost is far from a bad move.

The epitome of consistency and health, Jones has played in every game but one in the last three seasons, and during that time he has accounted for 195 receptions, 2,339 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns.

You'd be hard-pressed to find someone else that is better to compete for the role of the third guy for the Lions 2023.

This is a great move by a team that is doing everything in its power to take some massive strides forward in the upcoming season.
