It's been a busy offseason for the New Orleans Saints when it comes to their defensive line. The Saints were able to re-sign defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon and defensive tackle Malcolm Roach but lost David Onyemata and Shy Tuttle on their interior defensive line.

A recent piece from Pro Football Focus has the Saints grabbing another edge rusher on Day 2 of the NFL draft. They labeled Notre Dame's Isaiah Foskey as a fit for the Saints on Day 2.

The Saints love long edge setters, but there may not be value in that mold at the end of the first round. Foskey has the kind of length and explosiveness that New Orleans covets, but as the 62nd player on the PFF draft board, he makes far more sense at either Pick Nos. 40 or 71.

Foskey played in just four games as a freshman during the 2019 season. A year later, Foskey appeared in 12 games and registered 20 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

In Foskey's final two years in South Bend, he played lights out for the Fighting Irish.

Foskey had his best season as a junior when he racked up 52 tackles (9.5 tackles for loss), 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, and two fumbles recoveries. Last season was productive as well for Foskey as he tallied 44 tackles (13.5 tackles for loss), 11 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

As a result, Foskey was named a Consensus All-American, and his 26.5 sacks is a Notre Dame record.

Foskey measures in at 6'5" and 264 with 34-inch arms and ran a 4.64 in the 40-yard dash. In addition to rushing quarterbacks, Foskey also dropped into coverage for the Irish as well.

He would be a nice addition to go with Cam Jordan on the edge for the Saints.
