Key was a 3rd round pick by the Raiders in 2018, and every season he has improved. He spent the first 3 years of his career with the Raiders, then 2021 with the 49ers (and Titans new GM Ran Carthon), then 2022 with the Jaguars. Key has a great frame, standing at 6'5, but at only 240 lbs, many don't take his ability seriously. Key is dangerously quick off the edge, and has also shown an incredible knack for getting through the middle as well. He is young, fast, and quickly improving, giving me tons of confidence in this signing and addition to the Titans defense.

Strengths:

  1. Pass rushing: Key is known for his ability to get to the quarterback quickly and disrupt passing plays. He has good speed off the edge and uses his long arms and quick hands to beat offensive linemen.
  2. Athleticism: Key has excellent athleticism and agility, allowing him to change direction quickly and make plays in space. He also has a good burst off the line of scrimmage.
  3. Versatility: Key has experience playing both defensive end and outside linebacker, which makes him a versatile player who can line up in different positions on the field.

Weaknesses:

  1. Inconsistency: Key has shown flashes of brilliance but has also been inconsistent throughout his career. He needs to develop more consistency in his technique and effort level on every play.
  2. Run defense: Key needs to improve his run defense, as he can sometimes struggle to hold up against the run and get pushed around by bigger offensive linemen.
  3. Injury history: Key has had some injury concerns throughout his career, which has limited his availability and impact on the field at times.
