Philly arguably had the best first round of any team in the league based on who they got and where they were drafting. Now, they're trying to put together the best second day of any team in the league.
The Eagles kicked this off by drafting Alabama guard Tyler Steen to make sure that offensive line remains the best in the league in 2023.
The Eagles not having any pressing needs is different from them having holes on their roster. One such hole that could exist is right guard, only because Cam Jurgens still has no NFL experience.
There are a couple of guys that will compete for that role, but putting a weak link at right guard because you don't have any competition is an easy way to bring the entire line down, and that wouldn't be good for Jalen Hurts and his new deal.
Steen is going to have to compete, but he makes a lot of sense as a strong competitor for that starting role in 2023 at his best. At his worst, Steen is going to be an awesome depth piece that will turn into a great starter down the road when another role opens up.
Another great move by the Eagles. No pressing needs now, but thinking ahead never hurts.
