The Kansas City Chiefs have a lot of new rivals after the last few seasons, and their schedule features guys who have to get back at Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs, over the last five years, have beaten a lot of teams and a lot of star players. They have been to five straight AFC championship games and won three. They have won two Super Bowls in four years and did it by beating some of the best teams we have seen and some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

That is why they are one of the greatest teams we have ever seen and are close to being up there with the New England Patriots. It's also why they are a team that everyone is chasing. They will get their opponents' best no matter who they play because they are the Chiefs. That's what will happen in 2023 too.

One NFL analyst thinks the Chiefs have one of the biggest spite games in 2023, and it should surprise no one.

Bengals at Chiefs, Week 17, 4:25 pm, CBS

What needs to be said here? Yes, the Chiefs are involved in a lot of our top five. They beat everyone and they finally took out Joe Burrow. Burrow is a Mount Rushmore Revenge Guy and no one knows it yet because he hasn't really ever lost. Burrow doesn't say a word but if you see Burrow and somehow don't see a player eager to avenge a loss very quickly, you're seeing things in an incorrect prism. Patrick Mahomes also didn't love everyone pointing out how many times he lost to Burrow. This is a statement game for both of these elite quarterbacks. –Will Brinson, CBS Sports

The Bengals beat the Chiefs three times before Mahomes could get his revenge on Burrow. So, this year, the AFC Championship was the Chiefs' spite game. This one was more sweet than the three the Bengals won because this one led to a Super Bowl win.

When these two teams play each other again, expect to see a much more mature Bengals team and a team that got humbled. That's not a bad thing either. They had never won before so when they started to, they started talking a little too much. Being humbled is a good thing because you can bet that now the Bengals will be much more focused in on beating Kansas City when they play in Arrowhead.
