New York Jets fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the 2023 season and they have every single reason to be excited since Aaron Rodgers joined the team.
But, things are already off to a rocky start. Per ESPN's Diana Russini, Rodgers was seen favoring his ankle during Day 2 of OTAs and even added her assessment that "something [is] clearly not right":
WR Allen Lazard was injured, as well
That wasn't Russini's only update of the day, unfortunately. WR Allen Lazard, who signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the team during the offseason, also went down with an injury and had to walk off the field with a trainer.
Fortunately, he returned soon after, providing the Jets and fans a much-needed sigh of relief.
Pro Football Talk provided the following insight on Rodgers' situation:
Per multiple reporters at the practice, Rodgers stretched and did other warmup work with other players but stood to the side and watched once the team period of the session got underway. There’s no word on why Rodgers did not participate, but videos from the practice showed him moving gingerly on his right leg.
It appears as if Lazard is just fine. Rodgers, however, will certainly be something to monitor over the coming days and possibly even weeks.
