Victory. Defeat. Competition. They all show your true colors at some point in sports. LSU defeated Wake Forest on Thursday night by a score of 2-0. Calling it a pitcher's duel is an understatement. It was a legendary matchup between LSU's Paul Skenes and Wake's Rhett Lowder.

The only runs in the entire game came in the bottom of the eleventh inning when LSU's Tommy White hit a no-doubter to walk it off for the Tigers. The moment cannot be put in to words – as it sent LSU to the Championship series against Florida in the coming days of the Men's College World Series.

With adrenaline pumping and the most joyous celebrations occurring, White did something that may fly under the radar. He consoled Wake pitcher Camden Minnaci, the one who gave up the game-winning home run.

Just an unbelievably classy move from "Tommy Tanks" after the biggest hit of his career so far. White followed it up with some kind words for the Wake Forest reliever in the post game press conference. Minacci had received backlash from fans across the country due to an out-of-context clip of him from a previous press conference. White knew that was the case and had to point it out.

Now, I'm certainly not one of the "get off my lawn" type of sports fans. Baseball should be exciting. Players should show emotion. It isn't directly disrespectful or negative, it should be on the table. That being said, White was the definition of winning in "the right way" in baseball.

The special moment didn't bring the LSU slugger to taunt anyone that he just went to battle with for three hours on the Wake Forest side. Instead, White had an unforgettable moment with his teammates, then went to try his best to help the guy on that field that he knew felt the worst of anyone. That shouldn't go overlooked.

White provided LSU fans with a moment they'll never forget, and he'll also haunt Wake Forest fans' dreams for the rest of time. That's college baseball.
