The Dallas Cowboys have a very loaded roster, and a lot of the top players are on their defensive unit. However, none of them move the needle like All-Pros Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs.

Parsons is the Cowboys' all-purpose defender as he causes havoc on the defensive line, at the linebacker position, and he even takes snaps on the third level. Diggs uses his background as a wide receiver to be a ball-hawking savant at cornerback as his 49 pass breakups rank second in the NFL since his rookie campaign in 2020.

CBS Sports recently listed the top duos from each team. No surprise, Parsons and Diggs were named when it came to Dallas.

Dallas Cowboys: Micah Parsons (LB) and Trevon Diggs (CB)

The two best players on the Cowboys defense just happen to be their biggest playmakers. Parsons led the NFL with 90 quarterback pressures last season, pressuring opposing quarterbacks on 19.3% of his pass rushes — that also led the league. Parsons also joined Aldon Smith and Reggie White as the only three players with 13-plus sacks in each of their first two seasons (sacks became an official stat in 1982). Bottom line, Parsons is one of the best pass rushers in the game. Diggs has 17 interceptions in his first three seasons, the fourth most by any player since 2000. His 3.4% missed tackle percentage was fifth among cornerbacks as opposing quarterbacks had a 71.7 passer rating targeting him last season (five touchdowns allowed and three interceptions). The Cowboys have been a top 10 defense in points allowed per game in each of the last two seasons. Parsons has 26.5 sacks, 56 quarterback hits, 157 pressures, and 100 hurries over the last two seasons. For a player with minimal experience rushing the quarterback in college, and not playing on the edge full-time in the NFL, that's quite remarkable.

Diggs has only been playing the cornerback position on a full-time basis since his sophomore year at Alabama in 2017. However, in only his second season in the pros, he registered 11 interceptions which were the most in the NFL since 1981.

Parsons and Diggs are only 24 years old (Diggs will turn 25 in September) and haven't even reached their ceilings yet, if either has one. So the NFL better be prepared for these two making life difficult for opposing offenses for a long time.
