Here's some news that might upset some Detroit Lions fans. The Lions have moved on from fan favorite receiver Tom Kennedy. The team waived him on Friday with an injury designation after he hurt his arm on Wednesday and signed receiver Trey Quinn.

Kennedy was around for a while. The former professional lacrosse player turned NFL receiver spent five years with the Lions. Most of that time was pent on the practice squad, but when Kennedy got a shot at playing regular season football, he made the most of it. His biggest moment will always be throwing a touchdown pass against the Packers in Week 18 of the 2021 season.

As for Trey Quinn, the Commanders took him in the seventh round of 2018 NFL Draft. Not with just any pick though, he was Mr. Irrelevant in 2018. He was the final pick of the draft. He's spent time with the Commanders, Jaguars, Raiders and Broncos. He latest stop was with the USFL's Michigan Panthers this past season.

Quinn racked up 438 yards and five touchdowns for the Panthers in 2023.

This is more than likely a tryout for Quinn. He could have a chance to make the teams practice squad. As for Kennedy, don't rule out the chance that he could return to Detroit if he clears waivers. This is not the firs time that he's been waived. He might have a better chance of finding a home this time though since he put some good tape out there in 2022.
