The Detroit Lions surprised some on Monday when they waived undrafted rookie receiver Dylan Drummond after he had impressed so many at camp. Well, good news everyone, he's back . The Lions have signed Drummond to be a part of their 16 man practice squad per his agent Tom Pace.

Drummond's story is one of the better ones of the summer. He went undrafted, wasn't signed after the draft and didn't have any invitations to a camp. He went to a try out with the Lions during rookie mini camp and turned that into a spot on the Lions practice squad.

There's a pretty good shot that Drummond will see the field for the Lions in 2023. They only have five receivers on their initial 53-man roster and they could always elevate him for a game here or there for multiple reasons.

This also allows the Lions to have a shot to sign him to futures deal at the end of the year to ensure that he'll be with the Lions next year and have another shot at making the team's 53 man roster.
