Ryan Tannehill had a game to forget against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. The QB ended the day completing less than half of his passes for 198 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions.
After the game, Tannehill acknowledged that the turnovers have to be eliminated.
“You can walk through them, or whatever. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what happened," explained Tannehill. "They are turnovers and we have to eliminate those to give ourselves a chance to win the game.”
Ryan Tannehill asked about Week 1 performance Wednesday
Ryan Tannehill met with the media on Wednesday morning. The QB reflected on his performance, saying it "was tough to watch that film."
"I went through everything multiple times and looked at the errors, where I could be, or we could be better, Tannehill explained. "We nailed those down and decided to move forward."
Tannehill was then asked what specific areas he would aim to improve on.
"Every area that it looked like I can be better, then that's probably it," declared the QB.
Understandably, Tannehill grew tired of answering for his poor Week 1 performance and wanted to move on to Week 2. If the QB wants to bounce back in Week 2, he should have a perfect opportunity to do so.
The Titans are playing the Chargers, who just allowed Tua Tagoaviloa and the Miami Dolphins to gain over 500 yards of offense in Week 1. Tagovailoa threw for 466 yards and 3 TDs against the Chargers' secondary.
If Tannehill can stay out of his own way in Week 2, the QB could have quite the bounce-back game. DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks should be able to get open and Tannehill will have to hit those throws.
The 0-1 Titans are slated to kick off the home opener at noon on Sunday.
