This is very perplexing thing here for the Detroit Lions. We've been somewhat led to believe all week that David Montgomery and Taylor Decker would return tot he Lions on Thursday. Everything had been pointing to that happening. The on Thursday NFL Network's Tom Pelissero came out with this.
I got to tell you, this just doesn't seem correct. From everything that the Lions, and the players in question, have been saying and doing all week, it would seem that what Pelissero is saying is actually backwards. Like Decker and Mongomery are in and Moseley is not.
Just Tuesday Dan Campbell told Lions media that he felt the best about Decker and Montgomery playing on Thursday and still wasn't sure about Emmanuel Moseley.
“Yeah, I feel like probably the two that are trending the most positive right now would be (Lions T Taylor) Decker and (Lions RB David Montgomery) D-Mo. Those are the two I’m starting to feel pretty good about. And then (Lions S) Kerby (Joseph) still – we’re kind of wait and see here. We’ll know a little bit more today. And (Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley) E-Man is doing well. It’s just a matter of – (Lions Executive Vice President and General Manager) Brad (Holmes) and I have talked about that, is it time or do we wait until next week to see where he’s at since we can’t really practice this week other than full-speed walkthrough.”
Update: As we expected, some wires got crossed and Pelissero was indeed mistaken with his report Thursday morning.
